Slowly but surely, maroon seats are disappearing from Rogers Arena.
The process of replacing over 18,000 seats began earlier this month for the Vancouver Canucks. With just two events scheduled at Rogers Arena in May, it offered workers ample time to install comfy new black seats with cupholders.
So, how far have they gotten?
It looks like they’re moving at a relatively good pace, given recent photos and videos posted by fans attending Rogers Arena tours.
Video posted to Instagram by @amila_kehel shows approximately 25 per cent of the maroon seats in the lower bowl are gone as of May 18 — 12 days after work began.

The Canucks will surely want to get most of the work done before August, when things get rather busy at Rogers Arena, as eight concerts and a WNBA game are scheduled. Five more concerts are scheduled for September, which is also when the Canucks traditionally begin preseason play.
