The Vancouver Canucks won’t let a day go by without making a bit of news.
Today, Daily Faceoff’s Frank Seravalli reported that the team is making “significant progress” on an extension with Conor Garland, who currently has one year left on his deal.
Sounds like #Canucks have made significant progress in extension talks with winger Conor Garland.
He's not eligible to re-sign until July 1, but wouldn't be surprised to see it get over the finish line relatively shortly thereafter.

Garland was traded to the Canucks in a blockbuster 2021 summer trade that saw him head to town from the Arizona Coyotes.
In 2024-25, Garland had one of the best seasons of his career, scoring 19 goals and 50 points in 81 games. He was tied for the team lead in scoring amongst forwards, playing a career-high 18:39 per night.
“I love Vancouver. I think it’s a great city. I really warmed up to it last year,” Garland said in an interview after the season with Dhaliwal and Don Taylor on Donnie and Dhali. “I just really enjoyed the city. I love living in it…I got a great agent. He handles that stuff. I just play hockey, and that’s what I love doing, and I enjoy doing it. That’s how I look at it. That’s up to him.”
