Police are investigating after human remains were found on Burnaby Mountain over the weekend.
According to Burnaby RCMP, the investigation began around 6:30 pm on July 16, when officers responded to a report from a 15-year-old boy and his mother, “who believed they had discovered human remains in a forested area near Forest Grove Park.”
Police said the pair told officers that they had been building a fort when they unearthed the remains.
