Intersection crash in Burnaby sends pregnant woman to hospital

Burnaby RCMP are investigating a crash that could have resulted in tragedy for a pregnant woman.

The incident took place on Tuesday, June 12, at approximately 9 pm. The crash was discovered when an officer on duty came across the collision at the intersection of Kingsway and Royal Oak.

A black sedan crashed into an SUV, with one vehicle running into a street light. One of the drivers, a pregnant woman, was transported to the hospital as a precaution.

Both cars took serious damage to their front-end.

Burnaby RCMP have confirmed that although she sustained mild injuries, she is in stable condition.

The collision itself still remains under investigation by police. Burnaby RCMP shared that at this time, it is unclear whether speed, alcohol, or distracted driving were factors in the crash.
