Bucket list: 8 things you need to do in Langley this summer

May 22 2017, 11:49 pm

While it may be a bit of a skip and a hop (over Surrey) away from Vancouver, Langley offers a wide range of memorable activities that make it well worth the trip.

There’s a lot more out there than simple farmland, and luckily enough for you, we know where to look.

Fill an entire day (or weekend!) with a few of these must-dos and you’ll see what we’re talking about.

Rip around an indoor racetrack

At upwards of 75 km/hour, the go-karts at Fast Track Indoor Karting don’t mess around. The adult track offers a 1146 ft-long length that fits 12 karts, so you’ll be able to race around all of your friends at once. Unfortunately bananas, bombs, and turtle shells are not included.

Get some crazy vertical

If you’ve never been to a trampoline park, free up your next weekend ASAP. The Extreme Air Park in Langley has got it all, with dodgeball courts, basketball hoops, and a full 42,000 ft² of trampolines to jump around on.

Shoot some lasers

Honestly, laser tag is just as — if not more — fun as an adult, and Langley has one of the best arenas for it. And hey, now you don’t have to wait for a birthday party to run around with guns, because you’re a responsible adult with a job — and can now just pay to have that kind of fun!

  • Where: 20104 Logan Ave, Langley

See some animals at the zoo

Lions and tigers and bears…. and a whole bunch of other cool critters to look at at the Greater Vancouver Zoo. You’ll get to experience an African safari just by taking the drive out to Aldergrove, just make sure you don’t fall into the bear pit.

Spend a day in Fort Langley

Send yourself back a few hundred years with a visit to Fort Langley, learn about its history, and pan for gold. The fort is surrounded by Fort Langley Village, where guests can browse the many shops, bookstores, and cafes. A definite add to any “date ideas” list.

  • Where: Glover Road and 96th Avenue, Langley

Rent out an ATV

X-Motor Rentals LTD in Langley offers the chance to rip around the township’s trails on an ATV. Come ready to get a bit dirty, muddy, and wet, as you’ll be hitting all terrain.

Go on an adventure

Ridge Wilderness Adventures takes guests out on canoe trips up the Fraser River from Fort Langley, and shows them what it truly means to be Canadian. They take groups for guided tours, so keep it in the back of your mind the next time the gang needs a weekend suggestion.

Get a bird’s-eye-view of the Lower Mainland

A post shared by AC Airways (@acairways) on

Operating out of Langley, AC Airways offers scenic flights to get a once in a lifetime view of the Fraser Valley and the North Shore Mountains. This is a lot more than just getting the window seat on your next flight out of YVR, as the small plane has huge windows to peek out of.
