Just like his record-breaking number of concerts at BC Place, Bruno Mars loved the food at a Vancouver restaurant so much that he visited not once, but five timesĀ during his recent stay in our city.

Amelie and Vincent Nguyen, co-owners of award-winning Vietnamese restaurant Anh and Chi, shared with Dished that Bruno Mars visited their restaurant a whopping five times. Four of those visits were in person, with the fifth being a takeout order.

“It’s been such a joy and honour to welcome Bruno several times. Him and his team are so modest and lovely, we couldn’t help but keep things private during his stay in Vancouver,” said Vincent. “As a family-owned Vietnamese restaurant, sharing our food and hospitality with someone who came from similar humble beginnings and who brings so much joy to the world is incredibly special. We wanted to celebrate this intimate experience with Vancouver and share a little 24K magic with our guests.”

As for what he ate, Amelie told Dished that Bruno Mars enjoyed dishes including the Bun Bo Hue (spicy noodle soup), Chili Fish Sauce Wings, and Anh and Chi’s Chili Oil (going as far as to ask for extra chili oil in his to-go order).

In addition to his visits, Bruno Mars gifted the team a dozen floor tickets to his show.

Anh and Chi is a five-time Michelin Bib Gourmand Vietnamese restaurant located in the heart of Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood (also located along Vancouver’s Michelin Mile). The team is also behind the Michelin Bib Gourmand Good Thief.
