Homicide investigators have taken over the probe into a brazen shooting in Surrey that left a man dead Thursday afternoon.
Mounties in Surrey closed off several blocks of a residential neighbourhood after the incident, which happened in the 6700-block of 130th Street around 2 pm.
Emergency crews located the victim and tried to revive him. However, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Sumeet Randhawa. IHIT says Randhawa was known to police.
“This is believed to be a targeted incident related to the ongoing Lower Mainland gang conflict and anyone with information is asked to contact IHIT” said Detective Lara Jansen, in a release.
