Blanche Macdonald celebrates 60 years: 15 new graduate designs (PHOTOS)
Blanche Macdonald, Canada’s top-ranked school for fashion, makeup, hair design, and nail artistry, is celebrating 60 years of operation.
The education centre was established in 1960, and today, fashion design students receive guidance and mentorship from the program’s Executive Director, Tyler Udall — the former Senior Editor of Dazed & Confused and AnOther Magazine.
Blanche Macdonald’s 2020 graduate fashion show, “Sugar on the Side,” marked a momentous occasion and showcased designs by soon-to-be recognizable talent. We saw everything from eveningwear inspired by the Edwardian and Victorian eras to pieces inspired by relics discovered in an attic, and even a collection influenced by eating ice cream during winter.
Neat tailoring, linens, hand-dyed tulle, ruffles, wide-legged power pants, and silks draped to perfection were among the chic and playful styles presented. In case you missed it, we’ve rounded up 15 designs from the show.
