What police are calling a man’s “cross-Canada bike ride” has been abruptly put to an end.
On June 4, at approximately 6:30 pm, RCMP officers from Port Mann Traffic Services stopped a man riding his bicycle in the travel lanes of the Port Mann Bridge.
Police spoke with the man, who stated that he was leaving the province.
He was well known to the police, however, and was found to have an outstanding warrant on his arrest.
Before being arrested, officers say they were able to find “a significant quantity of illegal drugs and weapons.”
With his bike trip cut short, the man faces new charges and is currently in custody.
RCMP credit their Traffic Services officers and remind that it’s illegal to ride a bike on a freeway or highway.
