It’s not often you hear of a crispy-fried and truly solidified Southern chicken spot venturing into the world of plant-based vegan eats, but Vancouver’s Juke Fried Chicken is doing exactly that.
Late last month the Juke team closed its Davie Street sister restaurant, Little Juke, to swap the concept in the space completely.
Little Juke had been open since Summer 2018 and served up the brand’s signature gluten-free fried chicken, sandwiches, and sides, and along with location-specific eats like rotisserie chicken.
Enter Beetbox — the brand’s newest spot for comfort plant-based eats, which will be operating out of Little Juke’s former 1074 Davie Street space.

Officially opening on October 10, Beetbox will offer patrons a menu of meat alternatives for lunch, dinner, and late-night service along with take-out and delivery via DoorDash and Foodora.
Expects offerings like plant-based burgers, wraps, sandwiches, along with sides like chili cheeze fries, roasted broccoli with mushroom XO sauce, and more.
“We worked hard to create a menu that was accessible to everyone, ethical, and most importantly — delicious,” says chef/co-owner Bryan Satterford. “As an omnivore chef, I was able to approach it from a different angle and design a menu of meat alternatives that has the feel, texture, and taste of the real thing.”
Just like Juke, Beetbox will offer some killer libations for diners.
Folks can enjoy local craft beer and vegan-friendly BC wine exclusively on tap. There will also be a list of handcrafted cocktails, zero-proof libations, kombucha, and vegan milkshakes (made with local nut, cashew, and oat milk) up for order.
The interior of Beetbox’s easy-breezy 24-seat fast-casual dining room will be as colourful and green as the food on the menu, be sure to stop by on October 10 and check it out for yourself.
Beetbox will be open Sunday to Thursday from 11 am to 10 pm and Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 10:30 pm.
