Jay Beagle has been added to the NHL’s COVID protocol list — the first Canucks player added in four days.

Earlier today, the NHL announced it would delay opening the Canucks’ facilities by one day because of a new player joining COVID protocol. The team was supposed to welcome healthy players back to Rogers Arena today in preparation for the next game on Friday.

There was some good news, as Adam Gaudette has been removed from the COVID list, as it has been 14 days since he first tested positive.

There are now 19 Canucks players on the COVID list, including: Jay Beagle, Travis Boyd, Jalen Chatfield, Thatcher Demko, Alex Edler, Travis Hamonic, Jayce Hawryluk, Nils Hoglander, Braden Holtby, Bo Horvat, Quinn Hughes, Zack MacEwen, Marc Michaelis, Tyler Motte, Tyler Myers, Antoine Roussel, Nate Schmidt, Brandon Sutter, and Jake Virtanen.

Beagle is the first Canucks player on injured reserve to join the COVID list.
