The final chapter of Christine Sinclair’s legendary international soccer career will be written in her hometown.
Sinclair revealed that she would soon be retiring from international soccer last week, meaning that she won’t participate in next summer’s Olympic Games in Paris.
Canada Soccer has announced two matches for the women’s national team in December, with both of them taking place in British Columbia. Sinclair, who hails from Burnaby, will play the final match of her international career on December 5 at BC Place.
Canada will take on Australia on December 1 in Langford, on Vancouver Island. The two teams will face each other again on December 5 in Vancouver, with the match beginning at 7 pm.

The Canadian women also have upcoming matches against Brazil, on October 28 in Montreal and October 31 in Halifax. They’re important matches for the team to prepare for the Paris Olympics, but they’ll also serve as a farewell tour for the greatest international goal scorer of all time.
“Competing against a top opposition in Australia will be critical in our preparation ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympics and of course, it will be an incredible occasion in Vancouver to celebrate Christine’s historic, decorated career in her hometown,” Canada’s head coach Bev Priestman admitted.
Pre-sale tickets to both BC matches go on sale on October 25, while tickets will be made available to the general public on October 30.
