BC Hydro reminds people to maintain a physical distance of at least two metres if they see crews or contractors out on the field.
“Downed power lines are an emergency,” says the company. “Stay at least 10 metres back and call 9-1-1 immediately.”
A wind warning issued by Environment Canada is currently in effect for Metro Vancouver. Winds in excess of 90 km/h are possible, although they’re expected to ease considerably once the cold front passes.
