
Travellers from around the world have been flocking to Vancouver this summer, and visitors planning to explore more of the province have great B.C. hotels to choose from.
The 31st anniversary of Travel + Leisure’s World’s Best Awards has just revealed the top 10 city hotels in Canada, and four are located in B.C.
This year’s prestigious list includes the Fairmont Empress in Victoria, the Rosewood Hotel Georgia, the Wedgewood Hotel & Spa, and the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver.
According to Travel + Leisure, the best city hotels in the country have one thing in common: “Exceptional service that turns inquisitive travelers into return guests.”

“While some hotels offer a rich backstory and entrancing interiors, others are brand new to the hospitality scene,” said Travel + Leisure in its announcement.
“As for the top cities, tried-and-true reign supreme with phenomenal attractions, superlative hotels, and electric dining scenes.”
Over 661,000 votes were cast in this year’s World’s Best Awards, recognizing the top hotels worldwide in conjunction with editorial expertise.

Fairmont Pacific Rim
The Fairmont Empress topped the list with its stunning waterfront views, distinguished history, and recent renovations and updates. It also came in first in 2025.
Located in Victoria’s Inner Harbour, “Canada’s Castle on the Coast” is renowned for its stunning architecture and famous traditional afternoon tea. The Fairmont Empress has been an iconic landmark since 1908.
The luxurious hotel chain also saw its Fairmont Pacific Rim place at number six on the list.
Rosewood Hotel Georgia was ranked second in the top 10 city hotels in Canada, and Wedgewood Hotel & Spa placed fifth. The full ranking, including all B.C. hotels, can be found online.

B.C. has recently garnered numerous accolades, ranging from Vancouver being the only Canadian city to crack the list of world’s most livable places to an iconic museum at the University of British Columbia placing among the top 25 in a new world ranking.
A historic B.C. hotel in a Tudor mansion was named one of the world’s best accommodations, and Vancouver was crowned one of the most popular summer travel destinations, according to Skyscanner’s latest Smarter Summer Report.
