A scary home invasion in the Lower Mainland ended with one of the suspects in the hospital, and police are now asking for the public’s help in tracking down a person of interest.

Mission RCMP says that on Thursday, Nov. 13, officers responded to a report of a violent home invasion at a Mission home around 1:30 a.m.

“Suspects entered the home and assaulted the occupants. The victims were pepper-sprayed, and one individual was struck with a crowbar.

“During the altercation, one of the suspects sustained substantial injuries from the homeowner and fled the scene after stealing a number of long guns,” added Mission RCMP in a release.

“At approximately 2 a.m., a local hospital reported that a male with suspicious injuries had been dropped off by a Dodge Caravan. Police located and attempted to stop the vehicle in Abbotsford, which fled at a high rate of speed. It was later located unoccupied, and police were unable to locate the occupants of the Caravan.”

The suspect dropped off at the hospital was arrested and remains in police custody on unrelated charges. Two additional suspects remain outstanding.

The Mission RCMP Serious Crime Unit is actively investigating the home invasion as if it were a targeted incident, and is asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest.

This isn’t the only violent crime to occur in recent weeks for which the police are asking for the public’s help.

VPD asks anyone with information to contact the Major Crimes Unit at 604-717-2500.
