A stunning and unique spot in B.C. was recently named one of the coolest motels in Canada, and it is owned by a man from Vancouver.
After receiving a facelift in 2024, The Stonewater, located on the Sunshine Coast, is ready to bask in the spotlight, and Elle Magazine gave it the cool nod earlier this year. Qaid Jivan, a Vancouver resident with extensive experience in real estate and consulting on luxury real estate development, is the owner.
The Stonewater is located at 13483 Sunshine Coast Hwy. in Madeira Park, serving as a gateway to everything that makes British Columbia a special place.

If you’re looking for a getaway this summer, based on the pictures we’ve scanned on The Stonewater’s Instagram page, it seems like the perfect place to go if you’re a fan of the great outdoors.
“The Stonewater is just 2.5 hours outside of Vancouver, ferry ride included. Tucked away in the forest of Pender Harbour, right in the middle of the most scenic beaches, hikes and lakes on the Sunshine Coast,” the website shares.
For lodging, The Stonewater offers a variety of room types, ranging from studios with queen beds to tiny cabins equipped with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. For the tiny cabins, showers, sinks, and flushable toilets are just steps away.

It seems clear that the folks behind The Stonewater enjoy having fun, based on the playful setup. Some will get a kick out of the fact that The Stonewater offers “glamping trailers.”

“All of our trailers deliver a comfortable experience with full kitchens, bathrooms, a movie projector, and a range of sleeping arrangements to suit your needs.”
The trailers can sleep up to five people.
The Stonewater also offers The Moonshine Spa a private rental space “in the most beautiful part of our property.”
Moonshine Spa features a cedar sauna, a hot tub, a shower, a cold plunge, and a fire pit, all of which could accommodate you and four of your friends.

Standard rates for accommodations at The Stonewater hover around $200 per night, depending on which type of room you select.
Jivan and his team took over in February 2024. As part of that takeover, they kept the original staff, launched an artist in residence program, and have sponsored various local events in the small town, as the previous owners did.
The Stonewater also offers budget-friendly stays, and a spokesperson told Daily Hive the establishment has become a hub for the community.
