With the long weekend upon us, those looking to use BC Ferries as part of their travels today are being advised to plan ahead and double-check their schedules.
In a service notice, the company said it has cancelled a number of sailings on the Tsawwassen – Swartz Bay route.
BC Ferries says the cancellations are the result of “an incident involving one of the ship’s rescue boats.”
The affected sailings include:
- 7 am departure from Swartz Bay terminal
- 9 am departure from Tsawwassen terminal
- 11 am departure from Swartz Bay terminal
- 1 pm departure from Tsawwassen terminal
In light of the cancellations, the company said it will be refunding premiums for customers who reserved a spot on any of these sailings. The vessel is expected to be back in service in time for the 3 pm sailing.
Daily Hive has reached out to BC Ferries for further information on the incident.
