Terminal Attendant

If you’re looking for a casual position, BC Ferries is hiring employees who can perform traffic control, baggage handling, and custodian duties.

A valid B.C. driver’s licence is required, and an OFA Level 3 certificate is encouraged. This position pays $28.04 an hour.

Foot Passenger Ticket Agent

BC Ferries states that a Foot Passenger Ticket Agent is customer-focused and is responsible for calculating and collecting fares from walk-on passengers.

The agent is also responsible for responding to passenger questions, completing revenue procedures, and making sure that the ticket booth is stocked with boarding passes, charge card forms, and other documents. The starting wage is $27.50 an hour.

Deckhand

The deckhand has a critical role in vessel operations and safety, according to BC Ferries.

Their responsibilities include directing vehicles and foot passengers on and off the vessel, patrolling to watch for unusual situations and any potential safety hazards, and steering under the direction of a deck officer when serving as a quartermaster. Deckhand’s starting wages are $33.80.

Manager, IT Resource & Development

This role is based in either Victoria or Vancouver/Lower Mainland, and is responsible for leading the design and implementation of a “wholistic people development strategy” for BC Ferries’ IT department. This includes managing contract recruitment, working with the IT management team. identifying and addressing any future IT skill gaps, and more.

The starting target salary range is $102,200 to $127,700 per year.

Regional Manager, Terminal Maintenance

BC Ferries is looking to hire a regional manager, terminal maintenance for the Horseshoe Bay Ferry Terminal. The successful applicant will ensure that the terminal marine and shore facilities are ready for safe operation by planning and implementing vital programs, managing operating and minor capital budgets, developing technical solutions, and more.

The starting target salary range os $121,800 to $152,200 per year.
