B.C.'s top diversity employers revealed and they're hiring with great benefits

Diversity is one of Canada’s biggest strengths, and many employers in B.C. are putting in extra effort to ensure their employees come from a wide spectrum of human experiences.

On Tuesday, Mediacorp Canada Inc., the team behind Canada’s Top 100 Employers project, announced the country’s best diversity employers in 2025. Nine B.C. employers made the 18th edition of the annual list.

Winning employers have improved their programs and initiatives to ensure they understand the challenges of a diverse staff while continuing to hire without bias during recruitment.

If you’re planning on job hunting in 2025, these best diversity employers in B.C. may be a good place to start.

BC Hydro

BC Hydro is hiring for well-paying jobs that could help you charge up your career if your energy reserves are diminished at your current place.

The electric utility made the list for requiring leaders to set annual objectives that focus on creating an inclusive and psychologically safe work environment

BC Infrastructure Benefits Inc. / BCIB

Vancouver-headquartered BCIB employs skilled trades workers on some of the province’s biggest public projects. It was named to the list for maintaining set DEI practices across projects including policy, procedure, and on-site support for priority hire team members.

BC Public Service

BC Public Service employs over 38,000 people across the province with a number of current B.C. government job postings available. It was spotlighted for managing a 12-month equity internship program to help BIPOC and 2SLGBTQ+ candidates obtain career experience and grow their leadership skills.

Insurance Corporation of British Columbia

ICBC was selected for the best diversity employers in Canada list for providing five paid days of Indigenous cultural leave per year so that Indigenous employees can attend ceremonial, cultural and spiritual events in their community.

Ledcor Group of Companies

The international construction company works with several community organizations to diversify its talent pipelines. These include Women Building Futures, Trade Winds to Success, and Canadian Partners in Workforce Innovation.

SAP Canada

This Vancouver-based software solutions company was recognized for advancing diverse talent through tailored development plans. SAP Canada also provides employees with the opportunity to shadow senior leaders and access open positions.

University of British Columbia

The post-secondary institution got the nod for maintaining an equity enhancement fund to support collaborative student, faculty and staff projects with equity and inclusion at the forefront. UBC positions also come with a variety of benefits and perks.

University of Victoria

The Vancouver Island-based university made the list due to establishing the role of vice-president Indigenous. It is responsible for integrating Indigenous cultures, histories, beliefs and ways of being and knowing into every aspect of UVic’s mission.

Vancouver Coastal Health

The health authority serves more than 1.25 million people in B.C. and has a diverse team doing so. It was spotlighted for conducting a self-identification and workplace experience survey of over 29,000 employees and medical staff. The survey was done to create a baseline understanding of workforce demographics and workplace experience among VCH team members.
