BC Ferries announced sailing cancellations this afternoon due to the current “adverse” windy weather conditions.

Cancelled Queen of New Westminster sailings include the 5:45 pm departing Duke Point (Nanaimo).

“The safety of our passengers and crew is of primary importance to us. We don’t take the decision to cancel sailings lightly, as we know customers rely on us to get to their destinations,” said BC Ferries in a statement.

Environment Canada has issued a wind warning for Greater Victoria and expects gusts to reach up to 90 km/h.
