BC Distilled cancels its Main Tasting event on April 4

Mar 13 2020, 5:02 pm

BC’s premier artisan distillery festival announced this morning that it will be cancelling its 2020 Main Tasting event due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

The annual celebration is the largest spirits event in Canada reserved exclusively for local BC distilleries.

In a release this morning, BC Distilled announced the Main Tasting, which was slated to happen on April 4, is cancelled and will not be rescheduled.

Organizers assured ticketholders that they would eventually be refunded, and told spirit lovers to mark their calendars for next year’s event on April 10, 2021.

It’s to be determined if the festival’s Whisky Tasting and Distillers Dinner will still move forward. Keep an eye on BC Distilled’s social channels for updates.

With coronavirus on the rise, the BC Ministry of Health is reminding individuals who attend events and large gatherings to monitor their health for signs and symptoms of COVID-19. And if you’re not feeling well, they recommend staying home at this time. Also, due to unexpected cancellations, please check the event you plan to attend is still taking place. Keep up with COVID-19 news here.
