WestJet adds two new domestic flights from B.C. destinations this spring

If you’re planning to travel out of B.C. this year, two destinations just got easier to depart from with WestJet announcing new flights launching this spring
On Monday, the airline announced the addition of a new non-stop summer flight from Campbell River to Calgary.
WestJet is further expanding its domestic network by adding non-stop seasonal service between Terrace and Edmonton.
Both routes will start in May 2026 in time for the busy summer travel season.

“Adding these routes to our summer 2026 schedule reinforces WestJet’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity and supporting tourism and economic growth across Canada,” said John Weatherill, WestJet Group’s executive vice president and chief commercial officer, in a release.
“The new routes will give guests from across Canada greater choice to explore their own backyard, as well as more efficient access to onward connections through WestJet’s home province.”
Flights from Campbell River (YBL) to Calgary (YYC) will run daily on a De Havilland Dash 8-400, described by WestJet as “the highest-capacity turboprop on the market today.” The first flight takes off on May 15.
Those looking to travel between Terrace (YXT) and Edmonton (YEG) can do so starting on May 19. The twice-weekly trips will also be on a De Havilland Dash 8-400.

Aside from the new flights out of B.C., WestJet also announced expanded service across several domestic routes, including more flights between Eastern and Western Canada and a significant boost in service through Halifax.
It’s been a busy couple of months for WestJet in B.C., with Canada’s second-largest airline also announcing a new direct flight from Vancouver to Penticton.
Travellers will be able to fly directly between Vancouver and Penticton five times a week beginning May 15, 2026.
The new seasonal route will end on Oct. 24, 2026.
“This new route will serve both business and leisure guests by giving them the opportunity to seamlessly connect between the two cities and beyond Vancouver to an extensive range of domestic, transborder and international destinations,” WestJet said in a release.
The flights can already be booked on WestJet’s website.
