Here's what's open and closed in Vancouver for the B.C. Day long weekend

B.C. Day is coming up fast, and while many places around Metro Vancouver will be closed, there are lots of places expected to be open.

Like any other long weekend, it is the perfect opportunity to spend time with the family, visit friends, or go on that camping trip you’ve been waiting for. But if you decide to have a little staycation, there is plenty to do around town.

To help you plan your long weekend, here’s what will be open or closed on B.C. Day around Vancouver:

Translink

TransLink buses, SeaBus, and SkyTrain services will continue to operate on a Sunday/holiday schedule.

Holiday fares will be in effect, so commuters will only need a 1-Zone fare to travel across all zones. However, the West Coast Express will not be running.

TransLink Customer Service Centre, Access Transit Customer Care Office, and Lost Property Office will be closed.

Community centres

Hours will vary depending on the community centre. Check the B.C. Day long weekend hours online.

Banks
ICBC will be closed for the holiday
Public libraries will be closed on B.C. Day, except for the Carnegie Branch, which does not close.
