BC health officials report 27 new coronavirus cases

British Columbia health officials announced 27 new test-positive COVID-19 cases on Thursday, bringing the total number of recorded cases in the province to 3,419.

A joint statement from Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry and Health Minister Adrian Dix on Friday said that broken down by health region, there are 1,057 cases in Vancouver Coastal Health, 1,764 in Fraser Health, 142 in Island Health region, 319 in the Interior, 79 in Northern Health, and 58 cases of people who reside outside of Canada.

There has also been one new COVID-19-related death, for a total of 191 deaths in British Columbia.

“Of the total number of cases, 12 individuals are hospitalized, three of whom are in intensive care.”

Currently, there are 294 active cases across the province, and 2,934 people who tested positive have recovered.
