Four B.C. spots named among 'Best of the Best' destinations to visit in Canada

If you’re looking for some of the top destinations to travel to in Canada this year, you don’t have to go far, as there are plenty of options right here in British Columbia.
Tripadvisor just released its Travellers’ Choice Awards, revealing the top 20 Best of the Best Destinations in Canada.
B.C. made its presence known, securing four of the 10 spots on the list.
“These destinations are our top spots for good reason—they’ve got everything travellers are looking for and more,” said Tripadvisor in its announcement.

According to its website, destinations on the list have received a large amount of above-and-beyond reviews and opinions from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period. Less than one per cent of listings achieve this status.
Vancouver took second place overall, with natural attractions like “snow-capped mountains, waterfront forests (and) cityside beaches,” Olympic Games history, and the highest suspension bridge in the world drawing visitors from near and far.
The next B.C. spot to make the list was Whistler, coming in fifth place. “The ultimate place to escape and unwind” was included for its pedestrian-only Village, beautiful year-round landscape, and a welcoming mountain culture for all interests to enjoy.

Victoria made the list, with a “younger generation” helping drive the city into sixth place on the Best of the Best Destinations in Canada list.
“It’s still one of the most British cities in North America, but there’s more to Victoria than tearooms, antique shops and galleries (though there are plenty of those),” explained Tripadvisor. “The city has sprouted a collection of cool shops, authentic coffee bars and unique restaurants. It also has more cycling routes than any other Canadian city.”

And just below B.C.’s capital is Tofino in seventh spot, with excellent surfing and stormwatching opportunities for the adventure seeker.
Tofino was also highlighted for being the self-proclaimed Tree Loving Capital of the World.
