If you’re starting out and on the hunt for a new job, 13 B.C. companies just made it on the list of Canada’s top employers for young people.
Back for its 24th year, the ranking comes from The Globe and Mail. Companies are selected by the team behind Canada’s Top 100 Employers.
Any employer in the private or public sector is invited to apply and is reviewed for career development initiatives that help young people advance and determine their career paths.
Key topics the list covers are tuition assistance, co-op and work-study placements, structured mentoring, and bonuses for completing certifications.

Vancouver Coastal Health
The list showed some serious love for B.C., with nine Vancouver-based companies, three from Victoria, and one in Burnaby named to the list.
Some highlights of the local companies selected include BC Hydro for maintaining its dedicated Trades Training Centre, and Mott MacDonald Canada Limited for its Teachable Moments program for young professionals to create and share short presentations with their colleagues.
SAP Canada Inc. was spotlighted for its Canada Intern Committee that supports interns at the company across the country, as was Vancouver Coastal Health for its in-house talent development and career pathways team that supports younger employees with personalized career coaching.
BC Public Service also made the list by running an engineer and geoscientist-in-training program, complete with a comprehensive training plan where participants can rotate across multiple locations and roles.
