There's a new food kiosk in Rogers Arena and it's entirely dedicated to bacon

We can’t believe it, but one of our big-time foodie fantasies has become a reality thanks to the culinary team at Rogers Arena.

Bacon has finally made its way into the professional hockey world – the perfect marriage of grease and grit – and we couldn’t be happier.

The arena has announced a new food kiosk called BACON, which will offer dishes completely centred around our favourite salty, crispy, melt-in-your-mouth ingredient just in time for the Canucks opening night on Saturday, October 7.

Roger’s Arena Executive Chef Robert Bartley told Daily Hive that this quick-service concept came about after the the continuous demand to add bacon to menu items.

Clearly, not unlike the Spice Girls, Vancouverites know what what they really, really want, and Bartley was happy to answer.

This year there’s five core bacon items to choose from, but Bartley says the future has endless possibilities for the bacon-centric stand located in section 310.

The items from BACON include:

Classic Bacon Sandwich, $11

Avocado Bacon Sandwich, $12

BLT, $11.50

Bacon Grilled Cheese, $9.25

Bacon Nachos, $12.50

When it comes to the Classic Bacon Sandwich and the Avocado Bacon Sandwich, patrons can expect five stacked strips strips of premium smoked bacon, shredded lettuce, tomato, cheese, sweet pickles, and a secret sauce on a butter-toasted Brioche bun. The other offerings are pretty straight forward.

And while there are many convenient places to eat pre-game, we think this kiosk may change our sports-eating habits from here on out.
