A&W to launch new plant-based menu item next week (PHOTOS)

First came the Beyond Meat burger, then the Beyond Meat Sausage Breakfast sandwich, and now, A&W Canada has another plant-based offering to roll out into some select stores.

The chain will be offering residents of BC and Ontario the chance to try their first-ever Plant-Based Nuggets.

Available starting December 2, this new offering was created in collaboration with Lightlife foods, and the nugget is made from peas, wheat, and fava beans, creating one protein-packed bite.

Daily Hive got to be one of the first in Canada to try this new item, and we predict that no matter your dietary preference, you’ll be delighted with the nuggets.

If you eat ’em hot they aren’t greasy, the crunch-factor is totally there, and the texture truly makes you forget you’re not eating chicken.

Both A&W’s existing Sweet & Sour and BBQ sauces are vegan so if you pair the nuggets with those and some of their signature onion rings, it’s a well roundedĀ plant-friendly meal.

Once they drop, the nuggets can be purchased in a pack of 6 or 10, and there’s a kid’s option too.

The new nuggets will only be available for a limited time (A&W told us until early January 2020), so be sure to get in and try for yourself.
