Tim Hortons, always ready to surprise Canadians with a funky new menu option, has done it again. This time, the spot is serving up a smoked sausage breakfast sandwich.
One that, undoubtedly, resembles boiled hot dogs smooshed into an English muffin.
The eatery, reliable for coffee and doughnuts, has seen some hits and misses with innovations in the past. While the Beyond Meat option was well-received in Ontario and BC, Twitter-users across the country ripped the spot’s poutine a new one.
And, like many a gutsy move, this new breakfast sandwich is being met by mixed reviews.
Some folks are major fans of the new option, and took to Twitter to share their joy.
Great job @TimHortons! I substituted my daily double double and sausage breakfast on an English Muffin with the smoked sausage instead and I must say itās delicious 𤤠instant classic! You should never get rid of it! Those of you who havenāt tried it, should! #greatbreakfast pic.twitter.com/q8XeHkBJHC

Others simply aren’t having it.
I feel like the actual sausage and not a sausage patty thing was a good idea on paper, but no one stopped to consider the mechanics of trying to eat one on the go. Roll-away meat tubes, here we come!

Yeah okay Tim Hortons.
You call that smoked sausage but I know a cut up hot dog when I see one pic.twitter.com/sVEz90e6xrā Normal Stu (@RDP1977) November 16, 2019
I’m going to need the minutes from the Tim Hortons new product development meeting where more than one person thought a hot dog breakfast sandwich is something that any person would want. pic.twitter.com/JytExqzPdF

What does it take to rattle mankind’s cage? Hot dogs posing as smoked sausage will do.
