Arkells are coming to Vancouver and playing at three different clubs

Arkells, a Canadian rock band from Ontario, will be heading to Vancouver and playing three shows at three clubs.

The announcement is part of the Between Us city takeover, which will see the Arkells land in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary. The band’s new album, Between Us, releases April 17.

“Each market will experience three nights, in three different clubs, for three ‘I-can’t-believe-this-is-happening’ sweaty shows from one of Canada’s most legendary live bands,” the Live Nation announcement says.

Arkells kick off their tour at a surprising Vancouver venue on May 7, The Penthouse Night Club.

This year marks 20 years of the Arkells, as the band formed in 2006.

Frontman Max Kerman said that they haven’t hit up some of the clubs they’re performing at in over a decade.

“Others we’ve never stepped foot in, but we know how much they mean to the music community,” Kerman said.

After the May 7 show at The Penthouse, the Arkells will play the Hollywood Theatre on May 8 and the Commodore Ballroom on May 9.

Pre-sale starts on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 10 a.m., while general sales begin on Friday, Feb. 20 @ 10 a.m.

Yesterday, on Instagram, Arkells posted a little teaser with Kerman wearing a snazzy Penthouse shirt featuring one of the club’s most iconic marquee signs, “Forever Neighbours, Never Neighbours,” a reference to Trump’s 51st state talk.

Arkells are clearly big fans of Vancouver and some of the lore in the city. In 2022, they famously filmed a music video featuring Kingsgate Mall.

The band has several Juno Award nominations and wins.
