No one should purchase a cat or kitten for a surprise Christmas present. Pets aren’t toys. They’re a huge responsibility, and getting an animal is not something you should take lightly, or a decision made on a whim.
But if you’ve been seriously thinking about bringing an animal into your life, the holidays can be a good time to adopt a four-legged friend from your local shelter. There are plenty of gentle souls in there that deserve a second chance. Here’s a look at some of the great adoptable felines across Metro Vancouver.

Midnight
If you love a very affectionate cat, this little house panther is for you. Midnight was found roaming around Delta with a large bite wound to his neck. His foster family has really struggled with wanting to keep him, but he is just too scared of their sweet old dog and he would love a home without any canine friends. Meet him at the Delta Community Animal Shelter.

Britt has hyperthyroidism, so she needs a bit of extra care. She needs medication given to her once in the morning and once at night, orally by syringe. Meet Britt at VOKRA.
Bruce
Looking out different windows to watch birds is Bruce’s favourite pastime. On sunny days, he loves basking in the sun. He loves to cuddle beside you and receive pets. He is a lovely boy and will be a great cat to hang out and be lazy with on a cold winter night. Meet Bruce at Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association.
