Vancouver's solo ramen shop has now become the perfect coffee shop for introverts

Introverts in Vancouver might have a new favourite coffee shop destination now that 404 Coffee Lab is gearing up to open its doors.

The new cafe is opening in the former space of Ramen One, which was a ramen restaurant that offered a solo dining model for customers.

At 404 Coffee Lab, a very similar solo dining concept to Ramen One will be available for those who might want to get some work done without distraction or prefer not to interact with others.

The space is set up with an enclosed room in the middle, where the kitchen is located, and seating is arranged around it. At each seat is a QR code, allowing patrons to order from their phones. Food is then delivered through a small window blocked off by a curtain, resulting in minimal interaction with staff.

A portion of the restaurant is dedicated to this solo dining experience, featuring dividers between each seat for maximum privacy. However, those looking for a more communal space are in luck, too, as the other portion of the restaurant features no dividers, allowing you to sit with your friends.

When it comes to dining, 404 Coffee plans to offer a variety of options, including pasta fusion dishes, curries, and a range of desserts (such as its popular buttermilk soft-serve ice cream). Think Rustic Smoked Duck pasta, chashu onigiri, and karaage curry, for example.

Plus, you can expect to find its signature collection of Asian-inspired drinks like its Yuzu Matcha Cream Latte and Einspanner Latte.

404 Coffee Lab softly opens its doors on May 30. During its soft opening period, it’s offering 20 per cent off all pasta dishes, as well as a buy one to-go drink and get one 40 per cent off promotion.
