Burnaby RCMP have shared a shocking video illustrating just how fast thieves can steal valuables from vehicles.

Mounties shared a video on Twitter Thursday where a man breaks a car’s window and makes off with valuables inside in just 30 seconds.

“This incident also serves as an excellent reminder to never leave valuables on display in your vehicle,” the force said.

The man can be seen stepping out of his own vehicle and shining a flashlight into the passenger-side window of another vehicle parked in a carport. After spotting something he wants, the man quickly breaks the window and retrieves the items inside.

In just 30 seconds, he’s back inside his own car and driving away.

Mounties are asking for help identifying the suspect, who was wearing a green jacket and black sweatpants at the time.
