York Region opened up COVID-19 vaccine eligibility Tuesday to residents age 35 and up living in hotspot postal codes.

Starting at 8:30 am on April 20, anyone born in 1986 or earlier living in the five priority postal codes can book their appointment through the municipality’s site.

There are four eligible postal codes in Vaughan:

  • L4L
  • L6A
  • L4K
  • L4J

And one in Markham:

  • L3S

These five postal codes are included in the hotspot postal codes the Ontario government compiled earlier this month.

People younger than 35 living in the hotspots can go to a mobile vaccination clinic when they visit the area. Clinics are organized by community groups that are in charge of outreach and arranging appointments and are not bookable through the provincial system.

York Region also opened eligibility at its mass vaccination clinics to anyone 60 or older on Tuesday. People 40 or older from any postal code can get a dose of AstraZeneca at a participating pharmacy.
