The oddsmakers are already casting their favourites as to who they believe will hoist the Stanley Cup next year.
According to FanDuel, the Edmonton Oilers wereĀ viewed as favouritesĀ heading into the 2024-25 season and ultimately fell just two games short, losing to the Florida Panthers in the Stanley Cup Final forĀ the second consecutiveĀ year.
Despite the heartbreak Oilers fans are going through, they should feel confident in their team contending once again next season, as they are being considered one of the favourites to win it all.

The Carolina Hurricanes are currently viewed as the favourites to win it all next season, though both the Oilers and Panthers are just narrowly behind them. Here is a look at how the top 10 sit at this time.
- Florida Panthers (+750)
- Edmonton Oilers (+750)
- Dallas Stars (+850)
- Colorado Avalanche (+850)
- Vegas Golden Knights (+1200)
- Tampa Bay Lightning (+1600)
- New Jersey Devils (+1900)
- Los Angeles Kings (+1900)
- Winnipeg Jets (+2300)
Noticeably absent from that list is the Toronto Maple Leafs, who sit with the 11th-best odds at +2400.
As for the rest of the Canadian teams, the Ottawa Senators sit 14th (+3100), while the Vancouver Canucks come in at 18th (+5000). The Calgary Flames, who just narrowly missed out on the playoffs this past season, sit 22nd (+8500).
The worst odds of all Canadian teams belong to the Montreal Canadiens, who, despite making the playoffs this past season, come in at 26th (+10000).
Of course, the coming weeks could see these odds change in dramatic fashion, as the draft is coming up in late June, while free agency kicks off on July 1. How all 32 front offices manage both will play a huge part in who is looked at as the favourites to hoist the Cup once the 2025-26 season gets underway in October.
