Virtuous Pie is officially closing its Toronto location June 14

Jun 8 2020, 11:59 pm

Toronto has lost some seriously loved spots when it comes to its food and beverage scene recently, and another one just came on our radar.

It was bad enough saying goodbye to the city’s top all-you-can-eat pierogi destination along with a 30-year-old local legend, and now, one of Toronto’s most charming plant-based pizzerias is closing up shop.

Virtuous Pie will be shutting its doors for good on June 14 at 8 pm.

The Vancouver-based family of plant-based pizza eateries cited the “financial uncertainty of COVID-19” as the reason for the closure.

Owners told patrons in a statement posted on social media that the decision to close the 611 College Street restaurant was not easy, calling it an “incredibly difficult decision that was not made lightly.⁣”
