Parkdale's Tennessee Tavern replaced by pizza and burger joint

Jun 1 2020, 2:31 pm

You’ll have to get your fill of all-you-can-eat pierogis elsewhere, because Tennessee Tavern is closed for good.

The beloved Grant van Gameren joint, known for its Eastern European fare and dim, cozy atmosphere, will not be reopening after pandemic-induced restaurant closures lift.

Through Instagram comments, the restaurant has replied to customers asking if the space is closed for good, confirming that Tenny is now but a fond memory.

In its place, Gianna’s Patties and Pies is now running operations. Described as offering “Detroit-style pies and burgers,” you can browse the Gianna’s menu online, and choose to order pan pizza, burgers, appies, wine, beer, and more for takeout or delivery.

The new restaurant, also owned by Overbudget Inc. (read: Grant van Gameren), is operating on its own and through Uber Eats services.

Pizza prices range from $26 to $35, and you can get a burger for $9.
