TTC closing 2 different portions of Line 1 this weekend

Oct 24 2019, 5:14 pm

If you’re planning on riding the TTC subway this weekend, make sure to plan your travel accordingly as there are two partial closures scheduled.

This weekend, from October 26 to 27, the transit authority is closing two different portions of Line 1 — one each day — to allow crews to continue their installation of the Automatic Train Control (ATC) signalling system.

Here’s what to plan for:

Saturday

On Saturday only, subway service between St Clair and Union stations will begin at 8 pm and shuttles buses will run, stopping at each station along the route.

TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station.

Summerhill Station will be closed, but all others will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes.

Sunday

On Sunday only, there will be no subway service between Lawrence and Bloor-Yonge stations and shuttle buses will run along Yonge Street, stopping outside each station along the route.

ATTC staff will be on hand to direct customers to shuttle boarding and offloading locations, which will vary from station to station.

Summerhill Station will be closed, but all other stations will remain open for fare sales and access to surface routes.

As Lawrence Station is not yet accessible, customers who require an accessible connection should use York Mills Station instead.
