As Toronto remains under a freezing rain warning today, drivers aren’t the only ones struggling with the poor weather conditions.

As transit riders headed to work this morning, the TTC announced a number of service disruptions due to the inclement weather.

For starters, all streetcars along the 506 Carlton and 512 routes have been replaced with buses and the TTC reminded commuters to allow for “extra travel time” and to “utilize alternate routes”.

The TTC also announced there is currently no service between Queens Quay Loop and Union Station due to weather. Riders are encouraged to board the 509 Harbourfront to continue to Union Station.

To help make the morning commute easier, additional streetcar service was added to the 501 Queen, 504 King, 509 Harbourfront and 510 Spadina routes.

Additionally, Metrolinx announced that GO transit is accommodating TTC passengers along the Lakeshore West line between Long Branch and Union due to issues with the streetcar network.

During this time, TTC riders with proof of payment will not need to pay an additional GO fare.
