The year's first TTC closure is scheduled for this weekend

If you’ve got plans that call for commuting on the TTC this weekend, you’d best plan ahead.

On Saturday, January 11, and Sunday, January 12, the portion of Line 1 between Sheppard-Yonge and St Clair stations will be closed for track maintenance.

During the closure, replacement shuttle buses will run along Yonge Street, stopping at each station along the route. TTC staff will be on hand to direct customers towards boarding and offloading locations.

The 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 will also be available as alternative routes, and Wheel-Trans will be available upon request from any station throughout the closure. TTC staff members will be present to offer information about service frequency.

All stations will remain open for fare sales, and access to surface routes and Line 4.

Those passing through York Mills Station should note that the Old York Mills Road entrance will be closed. Entrances located in the York Mills Centre, Yonge Corporate Centre and at the corner of Yonge Street and Wilson Avenue should be used instead.

While the TTC does most subway maintenance at the conclusion of service each night, weekend and early weeknight closures are required to complete critical infrastructure and ATC upgrades.
