There's a TTC closure on Line 1 this weekend: February 10 and 11

Feb 8 2018, 1:07 am

A portion of the TTC will be closed this weekend.

Line 1 between Lawrence and St Clair Stations will be closed on February 10 and 11, as Metrolinx crews will continue construction on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

Express shuttle buses will run throughout the weekend, stopping only at stations along the route. Customers are encouraged to use the 97 Yonge bus and the University side of Line 1 as alternatives during the closure.

Parking on the southbound side of Yonge St. (west curb lane) between Lawrence and St Clair Aves. will be restricted on Saturday to keep transit and traffic moving.

Davisville Station will be closed throughout the weekend. Buses that normally service the station will board outside on Yonge St., Chaplin Cres., and Davisville Ave.

All other stations will be open for fare sales, connections and access to surface vehicles.

Current work on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT project includes construction below the existing TTC station at Eglinton, a shift of the TTC’s platform to the north and a new Tunnel Ventilation System at the south and north ends of the subway platform, according to the TTC.

The Eglinton Crosstown LRT is scheduled to open in 2021. Metrolinx requires a total of 24 closures for Crosstown construction this year.

The next scheduled subway closures are:

Feb. 17-18 – Line 1 Yonge-University: St Clair to Lawrence for ECLRT construction

Feb. 24-25 – Line 1 Yonge University: St Clair to Sheppard for ECLRT and TTC track work

Mar. 3-4 Line 1 Yonge-University: St Clair to Lawrence for ECLRT construction
