UPDATE: Environment Canada has ended the snow squall warning.

Environment Canada has issued a Snow Squall Warning for Toronto this morning.

The warning comes as a “brief but intense snowfall” makes its way through the area.

“Visibility will be suddenly reduced to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions,” said Environment Canada in the warning.

This comes after an Extreme Cold Weather Alert was issued by the city earlier this morning. This is in addition to Environment Canada’s Winter Weather Travel Advisory for Toronto.

Environment Canada is forecasting a high of -8ºC during the afternoon, which will feel more like -17ºC with the windchill.

However, more extreme temperatures are forecast for this evening, with a low of -16ºC expected, which will turn into -22ºC overnight.

In addition to that, the weather agency says there’s a 60% chance of flurries in Toronto this evening.
