6 arrested after 2 loaded guns seized near Front and Spadina

Hours after Mayor John Tory announced the City’s new measures to tackle the rising gun violence in the city, Torornto Police seized two guns, which resulted in the arrest of six people.

According to police, as part of an investigation by the Toronto Police Service Gun & Gang Task Force, officers executed a search warrant in the Front Street West and Spadina Avenue area.

Police say two loaded handguns, a .45 calibre and a 9 mm were seized.

As a result, the following suspects are facing multiple gun-related charges: Ibrahim Abdikarim, 24, of Toronto,  Jabril Abdirahman, 25, of Mississauga, Abdullahi Abdikarim, 22, of Brampton, Hussein Nur, 31, of No Fixed Address, Maya Ahmed, 26, of Toronto, and Liban Guled, 28, of Richmond Hill.

They appeared in court for a bail hearing on Wednesday morning.
