Toronto police are issuing a public warning regarding a series of early morning break and enters in the southeast end of Scarborough.

Since September 25, a number of residents have reported a man breaking into their homes as they were asleep.

Police say the man appears to target young women and girls, and has attempted to gather personal information about them.

The man is described as black with a light complexion, 6’0″, thin-medium build, with brown eyes.

Police are urging the public to lock all doors and windows each night and ensure all house alarms (if any) are active, and to keep porch lights on as deterrents. Police are also recommending keeping garage doors locked at all times.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-4300, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), online, or text TOR and your message to CRIMES (274637).
