Those driving home today should plan accordingly, as Toronto is going to be hit with rain and strong and gusty winds this afternoon and into the evening.
This, coupled with melting snow on city streets, will result in a very messy commute in some areas.
- Toronto is under another special weather statement today
- Toronto to be hit with snow, strong winds and freezing rain tonight
- Toronto expected to feel nearly 30°C warmer in the next 48 hours
According to Environment Canada, temperatures are going to be rather mild later this afternoon, with a high of 6°C on the forecast.
This will result in a “brief thaw,” which will be accompanied by rain and strong southwest winds gusting up to 70 km/h.
However, by later tonight, colder air will return and a low of 0°C is expected. Winds will continue overnight, gusting between 20 to 40 km/h.
While Torontonians can’t expect much of a relief from the brutal weather we’ve been experiencing lately, we can expect to see brief periods of sunshine over the next three days.
