Toronto area McDonald's employees test positive for COVID-19

Two McDonald’s employees in the GTA have tested positive for COVID-19, the company reported this week.

According to the restaurant’s COVID-19 tracker, on January 27, an employee at the 7600 Kennedy Road location in Markham, reported testing positive for COVID-19. They had last worked on January 24.

On January 28, an employee at the 1168 St Clair Avenue West location reported testing positive for the virus. The affected employee had last worked on January 24.

In the last few days, three Toronto employees also reported testing positive for the virus as McDonald’s continues to update its COVID-19 cases.

Anyone who visited an affected McDonald’s is asked to take directions from Ontario Public Health.

McDonald’s Canada says their restaurants have implemented enhanced safety measures, including having hand sanitizer dispensers available, keeping high-touch surfaces and tables sanitized, and making masks mandatory for all staff.
