18-year-old with G2 license caught going 185km/hr near Toronto

This past September, the Ontario Government announced that it’s going to be cracking down on careless and distracted driving by introducing tougher laws and penalties this fall.

And it looks like an 18-year-old G2 driver is one of the first to feel the effects of this.

The driver, who again, only has his G2 license, just lost both his car and said license after police pulled over his Audi S5 after being clocked going 185 km/hr on Highway 403 in Mississauga Sunday evening.

Police said the vehicle was travelling nearly double the speed limit, which has resulted in the teen being charged with stunt driving and receiving a license suspension. The car has since been impounded.

But this isn’t the only stunt driving incident that police responded to on Sunday evening. Police also pulled over a 22-year-old with a G1 license for going 160 km/hr along the same stretch of highway in Mississauga.

The driver was charged with stunt driving, in addition to multiple G1 offences and the vehicle has also been impounded.

While it’s unclear how much these drivers were fined, we can only hope this is enough for them to learn their lesson.
