It’s officially Toronto Women’s Fashion Week in the city, and events are taking place all weekend long.

As part of Fashion Week, Eco Fashion is also in the spotlight, and a collection by Evan Biddell is front and centre.

The collection, titled VV by EB or “Value Village by Evan Biddell,” is part of Eco Fashion Week’s 81 lb challenge. It will be showcased on Saturday, March 11.

81lbs is the average weight of discarded textiles per North American, per year, according to organizers. The 81lb challenge aims to visualize, rethink and reuse this “waste”.

As for the designer, you might remember Evan Biddell from winning the first Project Runway Canada. His Eco collection is heavily filled with furs, leathers and suedes and draws inspiration from the surrealist movements and all materials are from Value Village.
