Toronto Eaton Centre, Fairview Mall employees test positive for coronavirus

Two employees at Toronto Fairview Mall and the Eaton Centre have tested positive for COVID-19 this week as the province continues to see a jump in daily cases.

A Cadillac Fairview representative Fairview Mall in North York, has recently confirmed a positive case among employees at its HomeSense/Marshalls store.

They had last worked on September 26 and both CF and the retailer have taken the necessary steps as advised by Public Health, according to the spokesperson.

“At the same time, CF is undertaking extra cleaning of all elevator banks, food court tables, common area seating, doors and stair railings, and all other high-touch points in the complex.”

The location remains open for business.

Another case has also been reported at the Toronto Eaton Centre’s Garage clothing store location. The case was reported on September 28.

Several retailers have confirmed COVID-19 cases on its premises in the last few months such as Uniqlo, SephoraUrban Planet and Footlocker.

Grocery stores are also reporting cases of employees testing positive for COVID-19 at several locations across Toronto and the GTA.
