A positive coronavirus case at a Sephora location inside Fairview Mall has been reported, forcing the retailer to undergo a deep cleaning.

According to a Cadillac Fairview representative, a confirmed case has been reported at the makeup store.

“The affected client acted quickly and responsibly by immediately contacting Cadillac Fairview and Public Health,” said the representative.

“The client and CF have taken necessary actions as advised by Public Health, including arranging a deep-clean of the client space.”

Cadillac Fairview was unable to clarify with Daily Hive who was affected and when it was reported.

“At the same time, CF is undertaking extra cleaning of all elevator banks, food court tables, common area seating, doors and stair railings, and all other high-touch points in the complex,” said Cadillac Fairview.

“At this point in time Public Health has advised that no further action is required and the building can remain open for business.”

Several other malls including Yorkdale, Eaton Centre, and Sherway Gardens have also reported cases since August.

Footlocker, JOEY, and Uniqlo are among some of the retailers that have recently identified cases among their employees.
